15th Annual Sunrise Walkathon for Wellness

The Walkathon is a special Bobcat tradition and the Sunrise PTO's only annual fundraising event. Every dollar given by family, friends, and community members makes a difference, and 100% of Walkathon donations directly benefit Sunrise students, staff, and families.

During the Walkathon, students spend the morning walking or running the school track, cheering on classmates, and building our oneClowder community spirit. Each grade walks together and teachers, staff, and family members encourage students by cheering them on, or joining them on the track.

If you’re able, we hope you’ll join us for the Walkathon on Friday, October 23 immediately following the school-wide morning meeting from 8-8:30 a.m. To find out when your student is walking, check out the Walkathon schedule!!

How to Help:

Volunteer to help take photos or tally laps on Walkathon day as you cheer on your Bobcat.
Make a tax-exempt Walkathon donation to the Sunrise PTO in support of your Bobcat, and ask friends and family members to do the same.
Share your recommendations for local businesses that might be interested in supporting our school through a tax-exempt Walkathon donation to the Sunrise PTO.
Send your Bobcat to school on Walkathon day in clothing and shoes appropriate for the weather, and for walking or running the track.
Join us on Walkathon day to cheer on your Bobcat!

Walkathon Donations:

Every dollar given by family, friends, and community members makes a difference, and 100% of Walkathon donations directly benefit Sunrise students, staff, and families. This year, our Walkathon goal is to raise $20,000 to benefit our oneClowder community. All donations will support:

Our student clowder including emergency support, Sunrise t-shirts for new students, free Book Fair books and yearbooks, and special guests at school assemblies.
Our staff clowder including teacher and staff appreciation efforts, classroom supplies, and special project stipends.
Our family clowder including school-wide morning meetings, family bingo night, Field Day, and the annual Bobcat Boogie dance.

If you’re able, please consider making a tax-exempt Walkathon donation in honor of your Bobcat, and asking friends and family members to do the same.

Walkathon donations can be made online, via Venmo (@sunrise-bobcats-PTO), or by dropping cash or a check made out to Sunrise Elementary PTO with Ms. Coleman in the school office.

Your student will bring home a printed Walkathon pledge sheet you can use to keep track of donations. If you’d like to get a head start, you can access the pledge sheet here and print it at home. Return your pledge sheet along with any cash or check donations to Sunrise by Friday, October 23.
